Knowing that a Philips TV has a high potential for technical capabilities, many of its owners sooner or later wonder how to set up Smart TV on a Philips TV themselves, without outside help. After all, this Smart setting allows you to get a multifunctional smart TV receiver with access to an unlimited number of Internet resources.

It looks good in strong light, but the house is too aggressive and boring. Unfortunately, it is also common to set the home mode to factory settings, so that in the long run it is tiring to the eyes and, contrary to appearances, does not always provide optimal image quality.

Fortunately, we can eliminate most defects and adjust the settings to our preferences. We have prepared calibration guides for TVs from five popular manufacturers. On most new TVs, picture settings only apply to the currently selected input source.

Philips Smart TV installation has two technical options.

Method one: wireless

  1. Turn on the router.
  2. Find a special USB connector on the side panel of the TV receiver.
  3. Insert the adapter into the USB connector.
  4. To configure the wireless offer, you need to press the WHS button on the router.
  5. Wait approximately two minutes.
  6. Find the line “Easy access” in the menu, confirm the selected function with the OK button (if necessary, upon request, enter and confirm the PIN code. Click in the Pin Code menu - OK - insert the suggested PIN).
  7. When prompted for a security key, the sequence is as follows: Install. User – OK – dial the key on the TV remote control.

This action program will allow the configured TV to join your home network. If more than one router is found, the network is selected using the Scan buttons. and Easy access.

Quick image calibration in 10 steps

Then move the cursor to the end of the menu. Then the position of the picture settings will be set. It launches the main menu of the TV, where the first tab is responsible for the image settings. We've prepared a quick calibration chart for you that will allow you to set up your TV shot in just 10 steps. For each setting, we've also developed a legend explaining what it means and how it affects image quality. You will learn what the image parameters are in the second part of our guide.

Method 2: wired connection

With this method, to connect to the smart you need an Ethnernet FTP cable and a router.

  1. Connect the router to the TV receiver and turn on the conductor.
  2. Press the button on the remote control with the image of a house.
  3. Select Settings – Network connection.
  4. Follow the menu items and instructions on the screen.
  5. Confirm the request for an agreement with the terms and conditions for the user.

If you don't want to use our 10-step method, we invite you to the third part of this guide, where we will help you perform manual image calibration using test images. Below is a short tutorial on how to read our table.

The table below lists all the most important settings for the five brands we've chosen - along with the optimal picture settings. The included remote control is a universal remote control and can also control most commercially available television models. To control your TV, you must configure the remote control for your receiver model.

How to set up IPTV on Philips TV

Setting up IPTV on a Philips TV is done through the ForkSmart smart TV widget. The sequence of actions is as follows:

  1. Go to Philips setup.
  2. Click view parameters.
  3. Write down the numbers and letters that appear on the screen.

Wanting to connect digital television, many people turn to companies that provide these services. These companies offer everyone to set up free digital TV channels for a certain amount. Most clients agree to this, and do not even know that it is not necessary to do this.

Remote control configuration in semi-automatic mode

Enter the two-digit code corresponding to your TV brand. Step Press the mute button while pointing the remote control towards the TV. Each subsequent press of the button sends a different code for the selected brand of TV. The pilot will remember the correct settings.

Step Check that the TV is working properly. If not, program the remote manually by hand. Enter the three-digit code corresponding to your TV brand by pointing the remote control at the TV. If the entered code is correct, the remote control will send a mute command to the TV. Check that the TV is working properly with the remote control.

You can set up DTV on almost any TV. The only thing that is required for this is the presence of a tuner, which can be built-in or external. It all depends on the brand of your TV and its model. Most modern TVs have this feature. The main thing is that it is a foreign-made device and was released no earlier than 2005-2006.

Repeat programming by re-entering another code from the list for your TV brand. Turn on the decoder and TV using the reserve key. This module allows you to view encrypted channels without purchasing or renting a dedicated set-top box. The movement of the largest satellite platform in Poland only confirms the prevailing trend of modules. Is this phenomenon about freedom of choice for users or perhaps a relief for platforms?

Until now it has not been a highly professional product, rather dedicated to the most demanding and familiar with satellite technology for customers. However, new televisions equipped with satellite receivers have expanded the horizons of this solution. Everything indicates that we will have a real modular offensive. Selecting a module is often an opportunity for the user to control an additional device. Many televisions are designed to receive Polish satellite platforms. Plus, we all control it with a standard TV remote control, so there's a lot less hassle for the user.

Televisions from Philips are quite popular in Russia. This is due to their reliability, quality, prevalence and relatively low cost. Today we will talk about how to set up digital TV for those who also have a device from this company.

Setting up channels on TVs before 2011

The interface of many Philips TVs is different from each other. However, the general scheme for installing digital television on them is as follows:

The only drawback of this option today is that few TVs on the market have two satellite tuners, which means that we cannot watch one channel at the same time while recording another. This problem will probably be resolved in the coming years. Access modules are also great for sports enthusiasts and advanced decoders. Football fans will likely not be able to access exclusive channels across all digital platforms. With modules instead of three decoders, they can connect modules to an advanced decoder and take advantage of the full range of satellite platforms.

If during these steps your TV starts asking for a password, then you will need to enter 0000, 1111 or 1234. These are standard passwords that will give you access to certain options.

Modern Philips TVs

More modern models are configured in almost the same way, but there are some features.

To set up a modern Philips model you will need:

If you choose quick scan, then you will need:

  • Set the frequency difference to 8 MHz;
  • Disable analog channels if you already have them configured, click “Finish” and start searching.

If you want to perform a full scan, then:

  • In network frequency mode, select “Manual”;
  • Next you should set QAM – 256 and frequency – 298.00;
  • After this, you will also need to turn on or off the search for analog channels and start searching.

If everything was done correctly, your TV will start broadcasting free digital channels available in your region.

Modern TVs require preliminary setup: connecting to the network, searching for channels. In general, the procedure is intuitive: you just need to trust the system prompts. However, some users still experience difficulties. Below we provide a detailed manual for Philips TVs.

If the box from the device has been preserved, then it should contain a brief specification indicating support for the DVB-T2 format. Similar information can be found in the operating instructions. If there is no documentation, then it is worth inspect the back panel of the TV. The interface marked DigitalInput indicates that the model supports digital TV.

Important! Devices manufactured before 1998 do not work with the DVB-T2 format. Until 2004, equipment was only partially equipped with digital outputs: these were expensive TVs with a diagonal of more than 40 inches. The format began to be implemented everywhere after 2005.

    Digital television has undoubted advantages over analogue: the quality of the transmitted picture, greater resistance to interference, as well as other, less important advantages.

    However, to appreciate the quality of digital television, you must have a latest generation TV. As an example, let's try to configure digital channels on a Philips TV.

    Quick navigation through the article

    TV menu

    • First of all, you need to get to the TV menu: to do this, press the “Home” button on the remote control;
    • Next, in the menu you need to find the “Configuration” item and in the menu that appears we find the line “Installation”, and then - “Channel settings”. It is at this point that you can configure both analog and digital channels.

    Installing and updating channels

    The next step is that you need to choose whether you will use channel reinstallation on your TV or just update.

    • If you choose to reinstall, all already installed channels are deleted and reinstalled. For initial setup, naturally, choose this mode. Digital channels can be configured in the first hundred, followed by analogue ones.
    • The update is best used when reconfiguring. In this mode, all installed channels will remain, and new ones found will appear at the end of the channel list.

    Continue setting up

    • Next, you will be asked to select a country (choose Finland). In principle, you can choose any country that has official cable digital television.
    • Then select “Cable” (if, suddenly, this item does not appear, then you have chosen the wrong country).
    • The next step is to set the search settings - this is the only way you can properly configure digital channels. The transmission speed is set manually (and the speed itself is 6.875).

    Scan selection

    Frequency scanning is possible in two versions: fast and full.

    • A full scan will take too long, so set it to "fast". Again, select the network frequency manually and its digital value is 290.00;
    • Next, if you want to configure not only digital channels, but also analogue ones, then mark them enabled;
    • Finally, click “Finish” and the channel search will begin.

    The search usually lasts approximately 15 minutes. After its completion, you can return to the beginning of the menu and view the configured digital channels.
