Smartphones manufactured by Lenovo, over the years of their existence, have occupied a fairly large part of the market for modern gadgets. Even the manufacturer's solutions, acquired a long time ago, and among them the successful model A526, continue to function properly. Some chagrin of the user can only be delivered by their software part. Fortunately, firmware can correct this situation to some extent. This article covers the most effective ways to reinstall Android on Lenovo A526.

By following fairly simple instructions, you can restore the Lenovo A526 that has lost its ability to start normally, and also introduce some functionality enhancement with the help of updated software. At the same time, before proceeding to manipulate the device, the following must be taken into account.

Any procedures over sections of the smartphone's memory carry certain risks. All responsibility for the consequences is assumed by the user conducting the firmware! The creators of the resource and the author of the article do not bear responsibility for possible negative results!

As with any other Lenovo model, before carrying out the A526 firmware process, you need to carry out some preparatory manipulations. Clearly and correctly conducted preparation will avoid mistakes and difficulties, and will also predetermine the success of the events.

Driver Installation

In almost all situations when you need to restore or update the Lenovo A526 smartphone software, it will be necessary to use the utility, as one of the most effective tools for working with the memory partitions of MTK devices. And this assumes the presence of a special driver in the system. The steps you need to go through to install the required components are described in the article:

The package with the required drivers can be downloaded from the link:

Creating a backup

When flashing Android smartphones, the device memory is almost always cleared, which entails the loss of user information, so a backup copy is needed, which can be created in one of the ways described in the article:

When working with Lenovo A526, you should pay special attention to the procedure for backing up the partition "Nvram"... A dump of this section, created before the firmware and saved in a file, will help save a lot of time and effort when restoring the performance of wireless networks, broken in the event of an unsuccessful installation of Android or due to other errors that occurred during manipulation of the system partitions of the device.

Firmware

Writing images to the memory of Lenovo MTK smartphones, and the A526 model is no exception here, usually does not present any difficulties when the user chooses the correct versions of the programs used and the options for the files used. Like many other devices, Lenovo A526 can be flashed in several ways. Let's consider the main and most frequently used ones.

Method 1: Factory recovery

If the purpose of the firmware is the usual reinstallation of the official version of Android, cleaning the smartphone from various software junk and returning it to the "out of the box" state, at least with regard to software, probably the simplest method of performing manipulations will be to use the recovery environment installed by the manufacturer.

Method 2: SP Flash Tool

The use of the SP Flash Tool for flashing the device in question is perhaps the most versatile method of restoring, updating and reinstalling software.

Due to the rather long time that has passed since the termination of the release of the smartphone, the manufacturer does not issue software updates. There is no model A526 in the plans for the release of updates on the official website of the manufacturer.

It is worth noting that few software updates were released during the life cycle of the device.

With the help of the instructions below, it becomes possible to write the official firmware into the memory of the device, which is in almost any state, including inoperative, due to the crash of Android or other software problems.

  1. The first thing you need to take care of is downloading and unpacking the official firmware of the latest version in a separate folder, intended for writing to the device through the program. To do this, you can use the link:
  2. Due to the presence of not the freshest hardware components in the smartphone, not the newest version of the utility is required for operations with its memory. Proven solution - v3.1336.0.198... Downloading the archive with the program, which will then need to be unpacked into a separate folder, is available at the link:
  3. After preparing the necessary files, the SP Flash Tool should be launched - for this, just double-click the left mouse button on the file Flash_tool.exe in the directory with the program files.
  4. After starting the program, you will need to add a special scatter file containing information about the sections of the smartphone's memory and their addressing. The button is used for this. Then the path to the file is specified MT6582_scatter_W1315V15V111.txt located in the folder with the unpacked firmware.
  5. After the above steps, the fields containing the names of the device's memory sections and their addresses are filled with values.
  6. After checking that the checkboxes have been installed in all checkboxes next to the section names, press the button "Download", which will put the SP Flash Tool into standby mode for connecting the device.
  7. The smartphone is connected to the USB port with the battery removed.
  8. The process of recording information will start automatically after the device is identified in the system. To do this, you need to install the battery in the device connected to the PC.
  9. While the program is running, you cannot disconnect the device from the PC and press any keys on it. The progress of the firmware process is indicated by a filling progress bar.
  10. Upon completion of all the necessary procedures, the program displays a window "Download OK" confirming the success of the operation.
  11. In case of errors when the program is running in the "Download", you should disconnect the device from the PC, remove the battery and repeat the above steps, starting from the sixth, but instead of the button "Download" in this step, press the button "Firmware-> Upgrade".
  12. After successfully writing the software to the device, you need to close the confirmation window in the SP Flash Tool, disconnect the smartphone from the PC and start it by long pressing the button "Nutrition"... It takes a long time to start up after reinstalling the software, you should not interrupt it.

Method 3: Unofficial firmware

For those Lenovo A526 owners who do not want to put up with the outdated Android 4.2.2, namely this version of the OS is received by everyone who has installed the latest official firmware in a smartphone, installing a custom firmware may be a good solution.

In addition to upgrading the system version to 4.4, this way you can slightly expand the functionality of the device. A fairly large number of unofficial solutions for Lenovo A526 are available in the vastness of the Global Network, but unfortunately, most of them have significant drawbacks, which makes it impossible to use such custom solutions on an ongoing basis.

According to user experience, the most interesting in terms of stability and functionality for the Lenovo A526 are the unofficial MIUI v5 solutions, as well as CyanogenMod 13.

There are no official versions from the development teams, but the ported firmwares, carefully created and brought to a good level of stability, can be recommended for use. One of the assemblies can be downloaded from the link:

Thus, to understand the procedure for installing system software in Lenovo A526 is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. Whatever the purpose of the firmware, you should follow the instructions carefully. In case of malfunctions or any problems, do not panic. We just use method number 2 of this article to restore the smartphone's performance in critical situations.

The Lenovo A526 is an affordable and stylish large-screen smartphone with a high level of performance, perfect for getting the job done efficiently, as well as playing games and other applications.

Lenovo A526 firmware allows you to restore the device's performance lost as a result of system failures, as well as get a fresh version of the Android operating system.

  4. Disconnect the device from USB, turn off the power and remove the battery.
  5. Install the drivers for the firmware mode. To do this, download and unzip the special mode drivers, open the Device Manager, connect the switched off smartphone to the computer via USB. An unidentified device will appear in the Task Manager window for a few seconds. Quickly click on it with the mouse and in the open window select "Update driver", indicate the location where the unpacked drivers are located and install them. 13. Disconnect your phone from your PC and start it up.

Firmware update nuances

Do not forget to check the box next to the line DA DL ALL WITH Cheksum. Otherwise, the device will not start and will need to update again.

The folder with the firmware files can contain the Checksum.ini file. If there is a file, then after starting the update, the program will start checking the integrity of the image. If the check does not start, then this file does not exist and you can immediately connect the device to the PC.

Some A-series machines are not updated the first time. If you started the update process, but it did not start, then remove the USB cable from the device, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the device.
